Madhya Pradesh is facing one of the biggest locusts in the recent past which is affecting the food security of the country. It is now the largest locust attack in the last 27 years. They came to Madhya Pradesh from Rajasthan. The attack began on Wednesday in Budhini, Assembly constituency of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan.
These are the neem trees which destroyed the soft parts of crops and leaves including trees. Bhartiya is approaching Bhopal.
According to the state agriculture department, the noise can be used to scratch farms by making loud noises and utensils. They rest from seven to nine at night. Farmers are advised to be aware of their movement patterns by using this time.
Special task forces appointed by the Central and State Governments are on the scene. Experts have warned that if they cannot control them, the crops, including cotton and vegetables, will cost Rs 8,000 crore.
They came to India from Pakistan through Rajasthan. It is now spread over major agricultural areas in North India.
