Jaipur: Anurag Singh Thakur, the minister of information and broadcasting, has stated that the central government will soon introduce legislation to control digital media. At a newspaper’s silver anniversary celebration in Jaipur, Mr. Thakur remarked that now journalists working in digital media will also be credentialed. According to him, news was previously only communicated in one direction, but with the growth of electronic and digital media, news is now communicated in multiple ways.

The Minister pleaded with the media to carry out its duties responsibly and refrain from sowing fear and uncertainty. The central government, according to him, is attempting to make it easier to do business and live, and the change in how firms are registered was a step in that regard.

On the occasion, Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra said, the media is the biggest messenger of democracy. He said, the aim of journalism should be to strengthen people’s faith in constitutional values and democracy.
